New Student Orientation
From GrinnellWiki
Grinnell College New Student Orientation (NSO) is an annual exercise in awkwardness and information for incoming first-year students. While at times intolerably awkward, boring, and most definitely uncomfortably warm during the Iowa summer, NSO provides vital information on a variety of topics. These include how to cope with Grinnell's unusually rigorous workload, an introduction to the unique (and downright quirky) Grinnellian community, how to interact with the Student Government Association and numerous student groups, and, most importantly, an introduction to the quintessentially Grinnellian philosophy of Self-Governance.
For 2008 and 2009, NSO was significantly overhauled with the goal of increasing relevance, entertainment value, and concision.
