East Campus
From GrinnellWiki
East Campus is the easternmost part of the Grinnell campus, made up of the following Dormitories: Lazier, Kershaw, Rose, and Rathje (also known as A, B, C, and D, respectively, to some students). East Campus is the newest section of dorms, and while well-furnished and aesthetically pleasing, the dorms are thought by some to lack a distinct culture. East Campus has succeeded in largely breaking the "jock" vs. "stoner" dichotomy of North Campus and South Campus.Criticisms
East Campus is sometimes criticized by other parts of campus for having a cold, sterile atmosphere, due to details like automatically closing room doors (sometimes tampered with by students to stay open), a predominance of white in the color scheme, uncomfortable lounge furniture, and well-lit rooms. While the loggia creatively combines the closed and open loggias of North and South Campus, its roof is inaccessible to students.
