(Redirected from CERA)
CERA is located approximately 12 miles southwest of Grinnell College. It is owned by the college and used as a prairie restoration and teaching site that complements the Prairie Studies, Environmental Studies, and Biology programs on campus. Hiking, visiting, and volunteering opportunities at CERA are frequently provided by those involved with campus environmentalism, such as FTP.
The CERA research facility is powered entirely by the wind turbine on location.

History
The site was purchased in 1968, celebrating its 40th anniversary in September 2008.
Known by students as the "bio preserve" in the early years, it was undeveloped, fallow farmland and provided a nice venue for weekend get-away parties. 'nuff said.
